Funtley Deviation : ウィキペディア英語版 | Funtley Deviation
The Funtley Deviation 〔(Transport in the Eastleigh area )〕 was a 2-mile (3.2 kilometres) long〔“The Fareham to Eastleigh Line” Keat, P.J: Gosport, Gosport Railway Society, 1990〕 stretch of additional track〔(Travel in the Meon Valley )〕 built in 1906〔“Lost Railways of Hampshire” Oppitz, L: Newbury, Countryside Books, 2001 ISBN 1-85306-689-3〕 to supplement a precarious tunnel north of Fareham. It was closed in 1974 and is now a nature walk〔(Geograph )〕 with a small car park〔(Parkopedia )〕 at the Highland Road end.〔(Up my street )〕 Fareham station was opened by the London and South Western Railway on 29 November 1841 on the line from Eastleigh to Gosport. Later additions connected Fareham station with Southampton, Portsmouth and along the coast towards Brighton. The Meon Valley Line, Gosport and Clarence Yard Line, Stokes Bay Line and Lee-on-Solent Line from Fareham have all been closed. ==Notes==
